COMMUNITY SAFETY AND CAMDEN COUNCIL STREET PROPERTIES

"Housing to date has not been very effective in providing LBC street property tenants and residents with a front-line service when faced with problems around anti-social behaviour. Some residents would argue that the services are available to support residents around such issues but again these services can be more difficult and take longer to access by tenants and residents living in LBC street properties. It comes as no surprise to hear of stories in our local press of increased 'activity' on Camden's residential streets. Many properties in these streets are LBC managed  and, as one resident commented at a CASP General Meeting on anti-social behaviour, "Camden needs to take ownership of these properties" (CASP deputation to Camden's Overview and Scrutiny Commission, June 2005)

In July 2006 Camden Council embarked on a Review of Anti-Social Behaviour which attempted to focus on what Camden Council is doing as a borough to tackle anti-social behaviour and from these findings make proposals for improvements in service delivery.
