CASP ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING & 'END OF YEAR' CELEBRATION
WEDNESDAY 2ND DECEMBER 2009 ST STEPHEN'S, ROSSLYN HILL, NW3 (7-10.30pm)
Please note St Stephen's ceased to be a place of worship in 1977 and is now a fully restored and exciting community venue - the Association actively encourages tenants and residents from all religious backgrounds to take part in its activities!
A PRE-MEETING HOUSING SURGERY WILL TAKE PLACE BETWEEN 6-7pm - BEFORE THE MAIN MEETING - IN CASE ANY RESIDENT WISHES TO RAISE A HOUSING ISSUE IN CONFIDENCE WITH A CAMDEN COUNCIL HOUSING OFFICER - HOME OWNERSHIP SERVICES AND REPAIRS STAFF WILL ALSO BE IN ATTENDANCE.
Main meeting agenda to include: Election of new CASP Committee / Annual Association Report, Camden Council's 'scrutiny' report on housing services to LBC street properties (Recommendations), Camden's Leaseholders' improvement Plan (Progress Report), Fire Safety and LBC street properties (LBC Report), District Management Committees (DMC's) and increased representation for our members, An Overview of Issues affecting Camden Council properties.
The CASP 'End of Year' Celebrations - following the main meeting - will allow all our members (registered or unregistered) to enjoy the rest of the evening by relaxing with food and entertainment in the newly restored St Stephen's, once hailed as one of the country's finest gothic buildings in the country!
Please note: LBC street property tenants and residents should receive through their doors further information about the AGM / event including info on how to get more involved in the work of the Association! If you do not receive this information, please contact the Association!!!!
REFORM OF COUNCIL HOUSING FINANCE - WHAT'S BEST FOR CAMDEN TENANTS!
MONDAY 5TH OCTOBER 2009 CAMDEN TOWN HALL, JUDD STREET, WC1H 9JE MEETING WITH GOV REPRESENTATIVE WHERE TENANTS AND COUNCILLORS WILL BE ENCOURAGED TO GIVE THEIR VIEWS! 6pm: briefing 7pm: meeting starts.
CAMDEN FEDERATION OF TENANTS AND RESIDENTS ASSOCIATIONS (CFTRA) GENERAL MEETING.
MONDAY 23rd NOVEMBER 2009 (7pm) 11-17 THE MARR, CAMDEN STREET, LONDON NW1 OHE Agenda Includes: Tenant Participation, fire safety in Camden Council homes, Decent Homes Works, Reform of Council Housing Funding, Tenants' Services Authority (TSA), National Tenants Voice.
CFTRA is also in the process of organising a Tenants' conference on the subject of the Tenants' Services Authority (TSA) - this is expected to take place in January 2010 - date to be announced!
CASP GENERAL MEETING - JULY 20TH 2009
The Association would very much like to thank those members who attended the recent CASP General Meeting where tenants and leaseholders had the opportunity to raise concerns / issues about Camden's Decent Homes Programme / Repairs Service and Camden Council's current policy of selling off (empty) Camden Council street properties.
CASP DISTRICT MEETINGS
The Association would also very much like to thank those members who attended the recent Camden Town, Kentish Town, Hampstead, Gospel Oak and Holborn CASP District meetings - a number of actions have come out of these meeting which are currently being progressed by the Association!

HAMPSTEAD WALKABOUT
We would also very much like to thank those members who took part in the recent CASP Hampstead walkabout on August 10th - a number of Hampstead 'streets' had been selected at a CASP District meeting to include on a walkabout - items from the walkabout are currently being actioned and members will be kept informed of any progress!
CASP LEASEHOLDERS' SUB-GROUP MEETING
The Association would also like to thank those Camden Council street property leaseholders from across the London borough of Camden who attended the CASP Leaseholders' Sub-Group meeting on Thursday 11th June 2009 - items raised at the meeting - attended by Stephen Platt, Head of Camden Home Ownership Services - have now been drawn up and submitted to Camden Council - we hope that any items raised on the night will be considered during the development of Camden Council's Leaseholders' Improvement Plan!
Discussions are now taking place about how to 'formalise' the work of the Sub-Group - we will keep members informed of any progress!

THE MAIN DECISION MAKING BODIES WITHIN CAMDEN COUNCIL
The links below provide a summary of the main decision making bodies in Camden Council including details of individual committees, meetings dates, agendas and minutes of previous meetings.
The Executive
The Executive consists of a Leader and 9 other elected councillors chosen by the Full Council. Each Cllr who sits on the Executive is placed in charge of a particular area of work (eg, community safety). The Executive meets twice a month. Camden residents can organise a deputation to the Executive to highlight issues of concern.
A total of 54 councillors make up Camden's Full Council. These councillors have been elected by the general public in Camden to represent their interests. This Committee meets about 12 times each year. Camden residents can organise a deputation to the Full Council to highlight issues of concern.
The Housing and Adult Social Care Scrutiny Committee
This Committee is made up of elected councillors whose role it is to scrutinise the council's policies. The Committee may deal with issues relating to housing, community safety and adult social care. The committee meets monthly. Residents can organise a deputation to the HASC scrutiny committee to highlight issues of concern.
