NOISE NUISANCE / POLLUTION AND CAMDEN COUNCIL STREET PROPERTIES
Since the September 2008 AGM, the CASP Committee has organised a number of meetings with key Camden Councillors. One issue the Committee has been most vocal about is Camden's management of noise nuisance / pollution in Camden street properties - the importance of this issue for our members was made clear at the Association's AGM. It is also quite clear that Camden Council could be doing more to manage these problems more effectively. These problems more often than not are caused by poor sound insulation between converted properties. Saying this, the Association is still of the view that Camden Council could be doing more to help residents by adopting a more sympathetic approach when managing such problems.
The below report - How Camden Responds to Complaints about Noise Nuisance - was discussed at the September 2008 cycle of DMC meetings.

In response to members concerns about fire safety and Camden Council street properties, the Association has raised these concerns directly with Camden Council on a number of occasions. Discussions have now taken place and the Association is now waiting to receive more information from Camden Council on how it proposes to address some of these concerns - when the Association has received further information, we will update members!
